I posted numerous posts that share halacha and hashkafa on various topics. It made some members uncomfortable to discover that they were unaware of various shitas. To them, this was exreemism and trolling. Some might have found interest in my postings and learned from them. I am unsure if they are merely the few. Maybe I should be find another venue to be marbitz Torah where da’as Torah is received better.

I have been labeled a “pathetic troll” – which may disgrace kovod haTorah. Should I continue posting and sharing my wisdom or is it time to leave the CR quietly?

I am open to hearing and being mekabel the opinion of rov ha’tzibur.

I’m actually enjoying your posts. I think you have nice sense of humor, I’m just afraid that some people are taking you seriously.

    Shmendrik,

You’re either an incredible troll (probable) or a deeply disturbed person (possible). In either case, you urgently need to make yourself a Rebbi who can guide you in the correct path of Torah, because your posts show that you’re unfortunately very far from it, whether you’re a troll or not.

    From shmendrick’s profile:

“married to Rebbitzen Goldenpickanicerscreenname (a.k.a. Rebbitzen Goldenpupik)”

I guess like does attract like…

I posted numerous posts that share halacha and hashkafa on various topics.

Let’s be really honest, shall we?

You stole (verbatim) a psak halacha that you saw on another blog, and posted it as if you wrote it yourself.

    Shana Tova!

So you are a troll who steals, and also lies. Alot. Like when you said that you are “learning in Kollel long term”, yet you are posting during all times of the day when any kollel yungerman would be in seder.

Support from girl's parents in non-Litvish circles

You also implied that you are a Rebbe with a talmid

How to get rid of an eyin-horah?

How about this thread you started. Is this also a halacha shaila that you thought about beforre you posted? Was this from your talmid? or during kollel?

Is there a Minimum Shiyur for Asher Yotzar

To top it all off, just see this comment you wrote (and started a thread about. Yes, you area troll, and yes, you should stop posting. ]Not to worry, you will be right back with another name in 15 minutes]

I didn’t say he should stay; too many people aren’t getting the joke.

But it doesn’t surprise me that greatest wants him to stay. Right, OneOfMany?

Ferd, that was one of several plagiarized halachos. WIY pointed out what he was doing before I did. I only knew to check because of WIY’s research.

    Pathetic Troll

“I have been labeled a “pathetic troll” – which may disgrace kovod haTorah. Should I continue posting and sharing my wisdom or is it time to leave the CR quietly?”

What is “disgracing Kovod haTorah” you or the label?

“Should I continue posting and sharing my wisdom or is it time to leave the CR quietly?

I am open to hearing and being mekabel the opinion of rov ha’tzibur.”

This I don’t believe for a second. Trolls have many reasons why they post but they aren’t gonna stop on their own. If forced to stop – they try to return under another SN!

I think the reason by you it seems that you have a histrionic personality. You need that attention whether it’s negative or positive – hence this topic.

If Shmendrick’s goal is to be marbitz Torah on the Internet and he notices that his actions are causing the opposite of sheyehei shem shamayim misahev al yadecha, it’s time to rethink his harbotzas Torah. If anyone takes Shmendick’s “Lomdus” and “Harbotzas Torah” seriously, they can be really turned off from Torah.

    #918077

Shmendrik – must be stressful living a life as such a big troll…

Nice that you keep yourself busy with ” marbitz torah ” but its more disturbing having you warped ideas on such forums.

    shmedrick,

    Stop posting for several reasons.

    I will give only one:

By posting and representing yourself as a full time BMG learner you weaken the impression we have of the intensity of Torah learning going on at the flagship BMG.

Why dont you ask if the CR people would like you to stop trolling and just post like a regular poster?

    Shmendrick:

I leave you with some food for thought. We learn Torah and do Mitzvohs to better ourselves and to bring G-dly “light” into this world. We learn to respect the various paths in Yiddishkeit within Halacha and our holy traditions. Through the beauty of our Torah and its pleasant ways, we draw ourselves and other people closer to G-d. We don’t learn Torah to crown ourselves academically, and put other people down or to show off our accomplishments. That IMHO would be antithetical to the Torah’s teachings.

It seems that I am not rotzuy l’rov hatzibur. As such, this spells the end of Shmendrick OBM in the CR (under mine or any other Screen Name).

I hope to have added Torah and halacha insight into the following topics:

    1. why many do not wear a tie to Mincha on Shabbos,

    2. why frummer yidden do not say Gut Shabbos on Friday afternoon,

    3. to realize some gentiles might be Bnei Og & not Bnei Noach,

    4. to avoid vacation trips between Dec 25 – Jan 1,

    5. why many yeshivishe wear their hat brims up,

    6. that giving more than one name to a baby is not poshut,

    7. that emunas chachomim is absolute,

    8. ridding an ayin horah,

    9. not wishing someone a Happy New Year on Jan 1,

    etc.

I am mochel all and have no hakpodah against any of you. May you all be zoche to brachos and yeshuos.

Any last words or obituaries are welcome, but no hespedim please.

Moderators Note: For some reason you left out your greatest Halacha thread titled “Is there a Minimum Shiyur for Asher Yotzar”

Let it be known, that “shmendrick” has in the past used “goldenpupik” as a screename, before he was quickly blocked for being a troll.

    http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/profile/goldenpupik

He also claimed he was a woman in that screename.

    A really creepy troll.

I thought goldenpupik was his wife when he recently posted that his wife learns daf yomi. Can you really be sure couples don’t share devices? Just asking.

Although the screen names chosen by both are definitely troll worthy…

Maybe they are a couple of socially awkward people (made for each other). MODS, are there more SN’s from that IP address?

“I’m actually enjoying your posts. I think you have nice sense of humor, I’m just afraid that some people are taking you seriously.”

DaasYochid, you seem to be one who considers himself a discerning person, so is it so hard to recognize that every post adds or or takes away from the flow of an originally more serious thread? Troll posts, no matter how perceivedly humorous, especially with the current dynamics of this forum’s post delay rate, are an eyesore, and not worthy of mention or praise, and should be taken seriously.

Another point is sometimes there is absolutely no way to determine whether a poster is trolling or not; being sarcastic or whatever. So to wait until they establish themselves as authentic trolls, or better yet, to claim post-fact of disapproval that it was a troll post, should be to push their luck. And what does “a respectable troll” possibly mean anyways?

Additionally, I find many of the attempts at humor here predictable, repetitive, and distasteful.

minimum shiur for asher yatzar is a maleh lugmov? hahahahahahahahaha probably the funniest halacha I’ve ever heard…and the insight into the topics you supposedly gave the CR?

if you were able to write about those topics with a straight face you truly are the epitome of a troll

    Kozov,

I don’t disagree. I thought it was in very poor taste, for example, to interrupt the “What it means to be poor” thread with his drivel. But some of his stuff was still funny – kind of a CR Purim shpiel.

But I would have also blocked him (in fact, sooner), because of the inappropriate stuff, and because people were falling for it.

Okay, so I just reviewed Shmendrik’s profile, and he actually claims to be goldenpickanicerscreenname/goldenpupik’s husband. Which means he probably isn’t and they’re one and the same…

I knew it would end this way.

    From above:

“This I don’t believe for a second. Trolls have many reasons why they post but they aren’t gonna stop on their own. If forced to stop – they try to return under another SN!”

Is there a way to block his IP address – so he doesn’t come back with a new SN?

I hate trolls! However from shmendrecks posts I learned things I never knew. His topics were weird yet interesting. Certainly the posts were outside the box. In a trollish way, he made me think. At times I agreed or disagrede, at times I accepted or mocked, but usually I was forced to think and I when I left the coffee room, I was a little wiser. Yehi Zichro Boruch.
