Have mentioned a few times that would be good to have a method of looking at previous topics. Very hard to find ones that are no longer on front CR page.
Maybe this should go under a moderator thread but not sure which one. It seems there are very different criteria for posts getting in in the CR and on the homepage. What are the new criteria? For some reason none of my posts have gotten in on the homepage over the last few weeks and you all know I’M the original harmless fuzzball.
Wow cool- is this edit thing by every post new? Or am I living in the Dark Ages???

Uh uh. The sun never sets on the British Empire, hence it is never dark in the U.K.
The reason for this is that G-d does not trust them in the dark.

There’s every reason why anybody would want to live in the U.S. We have the best kosher pizza and ummm, I guess that’s all. But that should be enough reason(s).

Getting back on subject- It would be great to have a page with a list of members (that you can search as well) with a green dot next to whose signed in!!! Which would also eliminate the need for the thread…

Jax, I meant what if I’m signed in for 3 months but I’m not near my computer so I would still appear as signed in but I wouldn’t actually be here. Maybe there could be like signed in and posting…
kapusta: signed in for 3months?! well, in the gmail account emails, the way it works is, that you get to see who on your email list is currently signed in with a green light next to their name! so here if your signed in to post, then it would be cool to have a feature to see who else is signed in with a green light near there sn!
Jax, yea, yahoo has something similar, but on YW you can stay signed in forever without actually being here. Do you get what I mean?

kapusta: that’s the way my computer works! i don’t know my password even, firefox memorized it & it logs in when i turn on YWN! & i have my password saved in my email!
I just remember it, and when I try logging into my email (my password also starts with a k, not kapusta, something else) and I put in my email and for the password I start putting in kapusta and I have to stop myself in the middle. lol

Hey Jax was literally on the floor when I read your post- your too kind man. And you really don’t need that sign saying “noitallmr” I’ll just look for your huge black party Limo that you hired for the occasion!!!
And yeah your right about me getting the green light idea from gmail but I think it would be really cool to apply it to YW.
And Kapusta- if you turn your pc off then on again, just because it signs in automatically it doesn’t mean that you’ve been signed in the whole time!!!
What we need is a green light to know when a moderator is on.

The only technical improvements I can think of are:
1) An ignore feature so we can ignore pesky posters.
2) A way of mods being able to let us know in private that a post needs to be edited before it can be approved.
These are quite minor.

It sounds like you saved your password and your browser signs you in automatically. There should be a “recover password” function if you happen to get logged out for some reason or another
let me clarify. my password is not saved and I log in/out every time I come. (possibly before the Cr was around) I just stayed logged in the entire time. no one knows what I’m talking about?

A brief note here. When you go to a site on your computer, and enter a username/password, the computer saves this in something called a ‘cookie’ file – this is so that when you return to the same site, you will not need to re-enter the details.
Sites like Amazon use this as well to keep tracks on your shopping basket etc.
This therefore would be why you find that you do not need to enter your username/password when you come to the CR.
There are various ways of disabling this

my SN is saved, as it is on every site, but I log in every time, I come to the CR, I remember at one point just staying signed in, I know yahoo offers an option with email to stay signed in for two weeks unless you sign out, its similar to that. clearer now?

Thanks Jax good to see you around too- this is a kinda temporary come-back till Wednesday because I happen not to be too busy the next few days so will try and make the most of things- stick around!!!
