I posted Acre (Akko) yesterday. Can’t use a city over for At Least 1 day.
Ysterplaas, Somewhere in sunny South Africa
Amanzimtoti, KZN, South Africa
did we do Iceland yet?
Ilwaco, (Washington, US)
Oudtshoorn, South Africa
(btw, the kehilla in Oudtshoorn, a little town in the middle of a huge semi-desert has a fascinating history. At one time it was called Yerushalayim d’Africa. It was the world centre of the trade in ostrich feathers which was very big in the late 1800s. There was a big litvishe kehilla there with many people who had learned in the great yeshivos of the time. Many seforim were printed there even though geographically they were cut off from the big kehillos of the world. It has now dwindled, but when I last heard about 15 years ago, they still had their own shchita and daily minyonim.)
Ther is no such place as the east pole. You are officially disqualified.
There is no pole at the north either.
can somebody continue
Objection: North Pole isn’t the name of a place.
Oh, I do apologise. Just found this on Wikipedia.
“North Pole, a suburb of Fairbanks (located to the southeast of Fairbanks), is a small city in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska, United States. It is part of the Fairbanks, Alaska metropolitan statistical area. As of the 2010 United States Census, the city had a population of 2,117”
The minhag is that you put some more information on a place name. Like, New York, NY or Jerusalem, Israel. So you would have put ‘North Pole, Fairbanks Alaska’.
Zeerust, NW province, South Africa.
Neve Dekalim (Aza, Israel)
or if that’s disqualified due do it being destroyed,
New Milford (Bergen County, NJ)
Spring Valley, NY
Erdington, (Birmingham, England)
Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa
La Paz (Bolivia)
OK I see we have an issue here. My satirical posting of the non-existent Ukelele, Hawaii went totally unnoticed.
Any suggestions from the esteemed members of the geography board?
If we are going to just continue where we’re holding then I’ll post:
So why dont you check everything.
The name sounded Hawaiian
Maybe the mods should check
After checking that Zaire is actually a place…
East London, (South Africa)
Quacky; Are you sure that’s not from the song “Noida Noida Noida, Noida Noida Noida, Noida Leshimcha Besoch Emunay, Bruchim Atem Lashem”?
Also I expected one of “yooz” guys to call me out on it. Come on nobody here heard of a ukelele?
Looks like a guitar with four strings. Why shouldn’t it be a name of a town somewhere? We have a street called “wits end”.
Uncle Ben-ukelele does exist
San Bernardo (Chile)
Alphabet City, NY
Looks like we got lost here. The Queen; not sure who you’re responding to. oyvey; you’re not supposed to reuse names. Although we are not so strict about that rule because this is the sixth page of this thread, Yongzhou was just used 1 day ago. We have to have some minimum standards here. So if it’s on the same page, then let’s not repeat please.
Quacky; you say ukelele exists, as a place or as an instrument?
I am responding to Quacky.
Oak Park, Michigan
not sure either 😉
Sometimes a post doesn’t show up, and after I post, there is someones post before mine, which wasn’t there when I posted.
Zanzibar, Tanzania, Africa
