As has been observed earlier, when you log in to the news section you get logged out of the Coffee Room and vice versa. The reason is obviously that WordPress was installed twice, once with the news as the blog page and once with the forum threads as the front page.
My suggestion is that the coffeeroom should have a subdomain rather than a subfolder. Pirush: If the coffeeroom would be accessed through coffeeroom.theyeshivaworld.com rather than theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom then the the cookies would not overwrite each other since they would be treated as belonging to another site.
It’s a losing battle! The higher-ups at YWN don’t seem to want to bother updating the site. There have been many suggestions to fix or improve things and almost none of them were implemented.
About this specific problem, I contacted Duddy’s and was answered in less then a minute. I told them the issue and nothing happened. I don’t know what is so hard about fixing it, but I’m guessing it must not be so easy if noone wants to do anything about it…

I wouldn’t be surprised if the URL is hardcoded too many times in the site, so making any changes would break too many “features”.
I contacted Duvys Media again and I got the following response:

Actually, the way WP works is that the site name is a setting.
There is a big difference between how sites should be coded and how they actually are coded.
I’ve seen enough programs that look for “C:Windows” when they should be looking for “%SystemRoot%”

It used to always be that if you were logged into one, then you were logged into both. After they did some kind of site maintenance update, it broke it, and it doesn’t allow you be logged into both simultaneously.
As it seems, this problem only happened after some site maintenance. So I don’t think it has to do with how the site was built.
