The askonim shouldn’t only use Yeshiva funding as a cause for getting the funding, I know zionism has become a dirty word among the charedi world but anti-zionism is today’s nazism. It’s delusional to think that kissing up to get a few dollars from Mamdani is the answer when he’s calling for globalizing the intifada and making Israel support a crime. You’re falling into the same trap as the askonim in 1930s Poland.

You’re falling into the same trap as the Biryonim (בריונים) of Jerusalem.
October 27, 2025 9:44 am at 9:44 am #2463583HaKatanParticipantZionism has not “become a dirty word”, as if it was always so wonderful. Zionism is fundamentally anti-Jewish and is diametrically opposed to Judaism.
Regarding the comparison to the 1930s, first, some background:
Throughout galus, whenever a place turned hostile to Jews, Hashem always arranged other places to open up to take in the Jews. The sole exception was the Holocaust, because the Zionists interfered in that hashgacha and lobbied governments against allowing Jews into their countries, and on and on.There are at least two fundamental differences between today and 1930s Poland.
1. The Zionists then needed rivers of Jewish blood spilled to get “sympathy” from the nations in order to get their Zionist “State”. But, at this point, they already have their Zionist “State”.
2. We have a mesorah from Rav Chaim Volozhin that the last station in galus for Torah is in America.October 27, 2025 9:46 am at 9:46 am #2463587yeshivaman613ParticipantIs there anything that one could say on YWN that actually gets moderated? Or is this just a forum for anyone to spew whatever cefira or conspiracy theory that pops in their head?
October 27, 2025 10:40 am at 10:40 am #2463732☕️coffee addictParticipantThe moderators in their infinite wisdom wants to get us ready for life under Mamdani so they don’t police the posts and instead are in the process of hiring social workers
😜🤣

the problem is that if they started filtering out the kefira, they would have to silence the zionist voices. not sure WHY that’s the problem exactly, but that seems to be the problem.October 27, 2025 4:47 pm at 4:47 pm #2463797HaKatanParticipantsomejewiknow:
Presumably, the problem is that their advertisers wouldn’t like that silence.October 27, 2025 4:47 pm at 4:47 pm #2463862ZSKParticipantAskanim should not exist. Period.
HaKatan:
“We have a mesorah from Rav Chaim Volozhin that the last station in galus for Torah is in America.”Again, provide a documented source.

Links are generally not allowed, but according to https://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/moderation-memos-posting-tips-and-important-links it’s OK to link to YWN and Hebrew Books.
So, here is a link to a source https://www.hebrewbooks.org/pdfpager.aspx?req=41925&pgnum=194
There is no known contemporary record, but the story seems to have been passed down as a mesorah through the families of a few people who were there.I’ve heard the story from my own rebbeim who heard from their rebbeim long before R’ Dov Eliach published it in Avi Hayeshivos.
So all I’m saying is that there seems to be a solid mesorah for the story.
October 28, 2025 10:12 am at 10:12 am #2464043SQUARE_ROOTParticipantI have been reading the comments of HaKatan and UJM
for more than two years, and I noticed that they *** NEVER ***
criticize the Nazis or the Arabs or the Muslims,
and they *** NEVER *** blame the Nazis or the Arabs or the Muslims
for *** ANY *** problem.Instead, they blame “The Zionists” for 100% of the problems,
100% of the time. This false version of History is anti-Semitic Victim Blaming,
and it is the symptom of minds that are very sick and very dangerous to Jews.October 28, 2025 10:13 am at 10:13 am #2464180ZSKParticipantHaKatan:
Thanks for a real reference.
My response:
1) The question on Mi Yodeya is clearly answered that this “Mesorah” cannot be verified or fully attributed to whom you claim said it, as it could have been either the Vilna Gaon himself or Rav Chaim Volozhin.
2) The statement says nothing about the State of Israel you R”L wish to to see nuked into oblivion. It is about what will have to be dealt with in that final exile – rampant assimilation, intermarriage and a comfortable existence, one that led at one poster here to state that even after Moshiach comes, he will will not move to EY and will just only fly in for Chagim, as well as many, many others to say they would never move to EY because America is their home, not EY. Which leads to the question of just how much of American Jewry will last through the exile as Jews, and how many will assimilate and be lost.
3) What’s your point beyond more kvetching about Zionism?
October 28, 2025 4:34 pm at 4:34 pm #2464582Yaakov Yosef AParticipantThe fellow who started this thread was simply pointing out that voting for someone who openly supports “globalizing the intifada” = murdering Yidden, might not be a good idea. Please note ujm, somejew, and HaKatan, that “globalizing” includes the places where you live, not just where ZSK and I live… Mamdani is therefore much less of a threat to us than he is to you… So, why does this thread turn into YET ANOTHER pointless screed about Zionism/anti-Zionism?! Five or six active threads on the same farshluggener old topic aren’t enough for you people?!
October 29, 2025 3:22 pm at 3:22 pm #24647571ParticipantThe leading mayoral candidate of the biggest Jewish population is basically sharing a sentiment that calls for killing Jews. And you hakatan are one of his useful idiots.
October 29, 2025 6:38 pm at 6:38 pm #2465403nishtdayngesheftParticipant1,
You are basing your comment on a fallacy. I am sure neither UJM nor hakatan are fans of Madmani. But not everything thing is about zionism. And, while almost every time time you hear antizionism by those that are not bnei torah or actual bnei yisroel it is also antisemitism, there is clearly a difference between the two. And I haven’t seen any endorsement by any of teh chasidim of Madmani. But he may unfortunately win the race for Mayor. And antisemites like him can be vindictive.
And sometime people have to keep lines open.
I saw nothing in any of their posts (UJM or Hakatan) (and show me where, if I am wrong) supporting Mamzerani.

But then again, he also has a history of lying, so he knows if he really supports them, or is just trolling?November 2, 2025 6:48 pm at 6:48 pm #2466492nishtdayngesheftParticipantDaMoshe,
Prime example of the expression about assuming.
November 11, 2025 9:23 am at 9:23 am #2470364KGNParticipantHere’s a good idea: Find another city. We’re not in Poland anymore. Soon, we might not be in NYC anymore. Wanna learn in Monsey?
