    Was he released without bail?

    If not, why not?

    My 1.5 sense…

    Many things wrong here

First and foremost is little me calling out others. Who do I think I am. Am I the one to pass judgment on others?!? Of all people I should be the one laying low, I have MUCH to repair before offering anything to others.

But as the Gemarah says (somewhere, I’m sure) in the face of Chilul HaShem, all else matters little, so I HAVE TO speak up here.

    1) Bad mouthing others and especially a community on a social outlet (written, printed, electrical) is a tremendous Chilul HaShem. Where is affects someone or worse, a group, goes on the dangerous path of Mesira, where those in the past were dealt with according to the especial halachos in Shulcah Aruch. And vdi lechakima brimiza. NOTHING TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY. Reporters of the Jewish verity have a dangerous occupation, besides their clientele they have to give an accouting to the Great Master Up There. Hilchos Shmiras Halashon are more, much more, dire when disseminating and broadcasting to the public. And especially about a community.

    2) I don’t think Klal Yisroel voted or signed up to have a new “gadol” speak (or wreak havoc) for themselves. Our true leaders are known to have a head on their shoulders, to think things through first. And most of our true leaders are known to have done things obtrusively, quietly, behind the scenes, without the fanfare or rah rah of the cameras or reporters. See where all this has lead… A national chilul HaShem on major national news outlets. When one chooses to replace daas Torah with …. only disastrous results will occur R”L.

Have our youth totally descended to the level of those BLM hooligans?!? Watching pictures of those tiere Yidden behaving like those animals… so disgusting… so reviling… so nauseating… Is there really no difference between the behavior of the Chosen Nation to that of the lowest dregs of society?!? Even those chants are taken from them… “..no peace…” Feh. Times one million. Where and how have we sunk so low. Is there really no shepherd for our blind lost sheep?!? Sad. Very very sad.

As far as I know he is still in jail. He has a legal team working for his release and I assume a habeas corpus has been filed. But since it’s a holiday and the courts aren’t open they can legally delay his release. Once the court opens he must appear before a judge and the charges presented, he will probably get bail although bail was supposedly abolished.

When al sharpton incited a mob to murder R’ Yankel Rosenbaum and beat yidden, he was not arrested. Witnesses were present when he yelled “kill Jews!”. Lo and behold al sharpton is currently good friends with Joe Biden and has met with him on several occasions. No surprise over there….

@Coffee Addict – Released on his own recognizance. Basically an agreement to show up in court, often with restrictive stipulations. In this case a stipulation was that he stay away from that reporter, I’m not aware of any others.

    @Little
Froggy – thanks for saying it so well.

“When al sharpton incited a mob to murder R’ Yankel Rosenbaum and beat yidden, he was not arrested.”

He wasn’t arrested because he wasn’t there yet. He did plenty of horrible stuff but we don’t need to make up more. Freddy’s Fashion Mart was far worse. And he still hasn’t apologized to Steven Pagones.

Rosenbaum should have survived but the hospital missed one of his stab wounds. 🙁 The person who stabbed Rosenbaum would spend ten years in prison.

Actually Kornblut should be charged with Harassments, anybody who was verbally or otherwise harassed by him should file charges against him.

“he wasn’t arrested because he wasn’t there yet”

You do not have to be present at the scene of the crime, in order to be arrested for incitement. Heshy also wasn’t present when mr. kornbluh was allegedly kicked and punched.

Kornblut should be changed with Harassment, anyone who got harassed by him should file charges.

Common, you said that already. By the way his name is Kornbluh without a ‘t’.
Also, @Yechi refers to a CR participant from 8 years ago whose activity on YW consists of 1 comment. I have no connection with him.
Had it not been for that useless account, I could’ve simplified my username instead of having one that barely fits my computer screen.

    From NYTimes:

Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel, executive vice president of Agudath Israel of America, an Orthodox umbrella group, said Mr. Tischler was a fringe figure who had “made an idiot of himself.”

“I don’t think anybody really knew him or had heard of him until he decided to turn himself into the wonderful spokesman he thinks he is,” Rabbi Zwiebel said. “This guy is supposed to be a community leader? Please. It is an embarrassment.”

    “What about Rosa Parks?”

Yes she was arrested. Were it not for the incredible courage of people like here, we would still have segregated buses and trains, all white hospitals, suburbs and law firms with no Jews, and bigots being able to get away with all kinds of bigotry. Trump wants to bring back all white suburbs.

    Charliehall:

I hate to break it to you but someone that stabs another with the intent of murdering him and that person subsequently dies – regardless of whether the doctors could’ve saved him – is charged with 1st degree murder. FACT

Besides, considering the fact that the presiding jurors where all black (another fact) and subsequently went home to celebrate, I wouldn’t be surprised if the presiding doctors who “missed” the wound were also black, and also went home to celebrate.
The next time I have a chance, I’ll ask a surgeon if it’s possible for a doctor to miss a stab wound. I would suspect not….. what do you think?

If he made a chilul Hashem, then (not being) lashon hara is warranted to learn not to follow his behavior.

I don’t know why my comment a few days ago didn’t go through. It may have been a connection issue.)

IIRC the doctors missed an internal stomach bleed in Yankel Rosenbaum because they were sidetracked with then Mayor David Dinkins’ visit. Don’t know if this makes sense, but at least this was the reason given at that time.

And Charlie, only because of Yankel’s (הי”ד) brother Nachman zt”l using virtually every legal and PR angle over many years did Lemrick Nelson end up doing time, for violating his civil rights no less. NYC does not deserve any credit for whatever bit of justice was meted out in the end.
