From what I’ve read (supposedly quoting statements from parents whos kids were excluded) was that they were willing to do everything the stricter school wanted, and the school didn’t want them.

completely untrue. They were not at all willing. Besides the fact that those families brought this to a secular court instead of Beis Din is quite a clear indication of their unwillingness to abide by basic Halachah, let alone a frum lifestyle (no TV, etc)

mdd, The Rema says the public should support the Kollel learners. When they end university support, we’ll talk about Kollel stipends. Torah trumps Humanities.

Just 3 questions: 1. What did the Gedolim actually say? How do we know what they said? And based on what Torah premises? P.S. I am not looking to accuse or antagonize. I just really want to know. Thank you so much.

Avadai, it is a huge mitsva to support talmidei chachomim. But, it does not mean that everyone who decides to learn full-time is entitled to be supported forever by the public. For sure, he should not demand it openly. Only about big talmidei chachomim does the Gemora say that bnie iram met’suvim laasos melachtam.

Who are the real racists? The Chareidim who send to a school that is 31% Sefardi, but does not accept girls who’s fathers smoke on Shabbos, or the Supreme Court of Israel itself where out of 60 justices since its founding has contained a mere 3 Sefardim???

“Don’t Chareidim use the roads, utilities, defense, police and fire as well?”

Dosnt matter. Since theyre support eretz yisroel with theyre learning they shouldnt have to pay any taxes. The learning IS theyre “taxes”.

    I agree 100%.

The yeshiva leit shall remit 35% (or whatever the highest marginal tax rate is in EY) of their schar limud to the Israeli government each year. With this system, the heads of Israel’s governement are tremendous tzaddikim.

If they even offered them 1% of their schar limud the recipients of that 1% would be have tremendous schar.

I think that in the area of the Israelis supporting Torah institutions and providing (relative) security there has to be hakaras hatov. But that’s hard when you’re being called parasites and frum parents are being thrown into jail for wanting to practice parental choice in education.
