Because you all probably stopped reading that thread, much as I did. And so you (except syag) missed this. So I repost it here. But I just link it, I don’t repost it.
Anyway, so I decided to park my car tonight not under a tree because I don’t want it to get smooshed and I’ll need a new car. But the only other choice was near a telephone pole. But I figured, I can sue the city, but I can’t sue the tree. So I went for that.

October 28, 2012 11:40 pm at 11:40 pm #900992popa_bar_abbaParticipantI don’t have insurance except the statutory minimum liability. I drive a 98 civic; don’t need no insurance on that. But I still don’t want to need a new car.
October 28, 2012 11:49 pm at 11:49 pm #900993☕️coffee addictParticipantyou want to be in a lawsuit against the government which could take months to settle?
October 28, 2012 11:51 pm at 11:51 pm #900994popa_bar_abbaParticipantNo, but I’d take that over no lawsuit and no settle. Good luck finding a parking spot not under anything.
October 28, 2012 11:55 pm at 11:55 pm #900995☕️coffee addictParticipant:p you mean good luck finding a parking spot not under anything IN BROOKLYN
October 28, 2012 11:58 pm at 11:58 pm #900996popa_bar_abbaParticipantI should mention that I am parked in front of someone’s driveway. But, I happen to know it is an illegal driveway because last time I parked there and got a ticket, I fought it successfully because it was illegal.
I have one less friend, but have a parking spot about half the time–that is, whenever I get home first I have it.
Anyway, we really weren’t friends before that either. Ever since I took his kishke at the kiddush (he wasn’t eating it; he was just shmoozing).
October 29, 2012 12:14 am at 12:14 am #900997☕️coffee addictParticipantand i should mention im safely parked at a street corner next to no trees or poles :p
October 29, 2012 1:15 am at 1:15 am #900998yehudayonaParticipantI don’t think the city owns the poles. I think one of the utilities does. Poles are safer than trees. They don’t have branches and they don’t get diseases. I’ve never seen an uprooted utility pole.
