August 6, 2025 9:23 am at 9:23 am #2434544MartinRNParticipantI say Beni Friedman. He’s got the a lot of passion, a wonderful voice and an incredible range. The real truth is that it’s personal preference.
August 6, 2025 12:58 pm at 12:58 pm #2434813Koifer BIkurParticipantNobody. “jewish” singers, like “jewish” music are substandard at best.
August 6, 2025 12:58 pm at 12:58 pm #2434814BaalHaboozeParticipantAvraham Fried was, is and will be the G.O.A.T. hands down.
Lots an lots of great singers out there who I love, but only after AFAugust 6, 2025 12:58 pm at 12:58 pm #2434818☕️coffee addictParticipantI second Martin’s statement about personal preference
Each singer brings his own style
August 6, 2025 12:58 pm at 12:58 pm #2434832Ari KnoblerParticipant“Best” is a relative term. So many singers now are nothing but Avraham Fried or MBD knockoffs, while others like LS produce grade-
D ABBA-esque songs that are overproduced and have nothing at the core. Then you have your hippie-dippy Neo-Chasidic tripe, derivative of Carlebach, Jerry Garcia, and Phish. As for Chazzanut, so many modern-day cantors try to ape Koussevitzky and Rosenblatt, forgetting that while Chazzanut is based upon the Nusach ha-Tefillah, it needs to grow and evolve–and that does not mean cheapening the davenen with clapping and “yai-lai-lai-lai” nonsense.August 6, 2025 12:58 pm at 12:58 pm #2434883SQUARE_ROOTParticipantI do not have this problem, because I stopped listening to all music,
following the horrific massacre of 2023 October 7.I cannot justify enjoying myself with music, when so many Jews are suffering,
especially with 50 Jews still being held hostage in Gaza, with no mercy. On top of that, New York City will probably soon have a Socialist
lunatic mayor, who marched with Hamas sympathizers,
and started a new branch of “Students for Justice in Palestine”.On top of that, anti-Semitism is reaching levels not seen
since the 1930s, and the Mainstream News Media
behaves as if it we the propaganda department of Hamas.Hamas does not need a propaganda department,
because the Mainstream News Media already
performs that role, and for free.I cannot justify enjoying myself with music,
when the Jewish world is in chaos.August 7, 2025 12:24 pm at 12:24 pm #2434941RockyParticipantSimon and Garfunkel

August 7, 2025 12:46 pm at 12:46 pm #2435150simcha613ParticipantI don’t know who the best is… but I went to a Ishay Ribo concert a few years ago… and his fans span the spectrum- Charedi, Yeshivish, Dati Leumi, secular… and to see everyone singing together with him אשרי העם שככה לו, אשרי העם שה’ אלוקיו was one of the most powerful experiences of my life, and something that I don’t think any other Jewish singer can pull off.

If Hamas really wanted to torture the hostages, they would force them to listen to the drivel that passes for Jewish music today.
August 7, 2025 3:31 pm at 3:31 pm #2435375musicproParticipanthas anybody heard of MBD?
they say he’s also one to look out for but never actually heard him
they say he will become big one day.August 7, 2025 3:31 pm at 3:31 pm #2435377Just VisitingParticipantAvraham Freid is the best performer. When he performs on stage, he really connects you to the music.
August 7, 2025 3:45 pm at 3:45 pm #2435399@fakenewsParticipantWe’re the Singer family. Yes, we’re Jewish.
And I’m D. Objectively Best Singer.
It’s not bragging if it’s a stage name.August 7, 2025 3:45 pm at 3:45 pm #2435400@fakenewsParticipantIt’s all subjective — that’s why I go by D. Subjectively Best Singer. Saves everyone the trouble of having an opinion.
My son? Multiple Award-Winning Singer. Stage name since kindergarten.
My brother’s Critically Acclaimed Singer — mostly by blogs he wrote himself.
And Grandpa? Otto-Tune Singer. he’s the reason we’re all in key.
We’re the Singers. We’re Jewish.
And me? I’m D. Objectively Best (Jewish) Singer. -
