Why do these Americans not know how to spell what’s with the education system that they produce so many illiterate adults? Could it have something to do with their diet? I’m not married to an American for this reason!

    1) “Why do these Americans” – which ones?

    2) “..how to spell what’s with the..” – education in spelling goes with punctuation.

    3) Wong is a Japanese word. They were not in the least trying to illiterate the word wrong.

    4) “I’m not married to an American for this reason!” – That seems to be a good reason why to decide on whom to marry. By the way, does the one you’re married to spell English better?

If you have nothing nice to say, post it in the CR.

Was this written material or typed that you are criticizing. As a person who types for a living I can tell you that typographical errors happen all the time and what makes it difficult is that a spell check probably won’t catch this type of error since the word Wong is also a recognized word since it is a known name in another language. It might come up as a grammatical error, but not everybody’s programs catch that and I know that Word misses a lot of these things. It’s very difficult to be perfect.

Seeing as Haifagirl probably passed out when she read the OP from the delicious irony, I’ll try to rephrase the post with some attention to grammar and clarity.

Why (is it that) these Americans (do) not know how to spell (?) (W)what’s (wrong)with the (American)education system(?) (It seems to) produce so many illiterate adults! Could it have (Perhaps it has) something to do with their (the American) diet? I’m not married to an American for this reason! (It is for this reason that I am not married to an American.)**

**I must admit some confusion. Is the OP boycotting American shiduchim because of the food or the literacy rate?
