Why is it necessary to have so many Yeshivas and schools (elementary, high school, beis medrash…) that have the same hashkafa, derech halimud, and curriculum? Why does each community need more than one of each type of school. If for example three boys high schools in the same community offer the same hashkafa etc.. wouldn’t it make more sense to consolidate them to one school? You would only need to pay one Rosh Yeshiva, one Menahel, one Principal, combine three classes in to two and save the salary of one rebbi and secular teacher. If the yeshivas can reduce costs, maybe tuition can be lowered.
Bais Yaakov of Boro Park has one principal per grade. You are just creating an unmanageable bureaucracy where kids get lost in the shuffle.
Also, you can ask the same thing of any balabos- why do we need his job? There are many others doing the same job. Let’s consolidate firms and save positions.
The schools would be too big and kids would get lost – literally. Smaller is better – to a degree at least. And all schools are NOT identical.

Doesnt BY of BP have 8 parallel grades?
Yet we have letters to the editor all the time that you should patronize frum stores and pay their high prices instead of getting the same stuff cheaper elsewhere. So yes, frum people are asked to subsidize frum store owners where market forces would render them failures.
I had a relative at BY of BP. the school was so large that she got lost in the shuffle.
If classes can be made more homogenuous then Rebbi/Morah will have an easier and more successful time teaching and the educational experience of each child will be greatly enhanced as opposed to the great difficulty of teaching a class with very wide disparities among the students. This is a great advantage only achievable in larger schools, where the larger pool of students makes it possible.
i went to BY elementary and its not as bad as ppl make it sound… ppl can say all the cons about a large school: ur child doesnt get enough attention, will get lost’ each individual isnt important, ect. but thats not always true. in fact i got in trouble for so many little things that the school proved they rly were on top of things (and we had 200 kids per grade) i tried ditching school a few times and nearly always got caught. and im in a school that is considered much harder than a BY school and i have a pretty good backround foundation in both hebrew and english studies
