It is so much fun to read these threads where people haven’t realized that there only outlet is actually just “ripping” on other people.
They were given $25,000 if they removed the t.v.’s and one chasidish group said they would boycott it.
In response to another comment, there are around 5 kosher sports bars in the NJ-NY area.
I have heard a lot of good things about a Yeshiva called Yishrei Lev. They are in there 6th year and get a mix of kids from the American Orthodox Spectrum from TABC to Sharei Torah. On their website, they write “Yeshivat Yishrei Lev prepares its students for a lifetime of dedication to Limud HaTorah, Klal Yisrael, and Eretz Yisrael. Students will develop the perspective that their own personal achievements, in all areas, should be directed to the enhancement of Kiddush Shem Shamayim. Yishrei Lev’s unique environment of warmth and enthusiasm aims to produce Bnei Torah, Baalei Middos, and future Talmidei Chachamim of the highest caliber. Yishrei Lev’s Talmidim will have the vision to become the next generation of Jewish leaders.” The Yeshiva is a break off of OJ as the Rosh Yeshiva, Mashgiach and Rosh Kollel all taught there for over a decade, it is similar, but, most of the boys who come in are more serious.
