Putting aside all gematria proofs, which I’m not sure why we’re using to prove points #Shimon Nodel #reb mutche , I think it would be wise to be wary of Vance from what we have seen so far.

As for the point that ‘Haman was from Amaleik and actually plotted to destroy the Jews, unlike this administration which has taken military action to help protect Jews.” #HaKatan, According to many of the meforshim Haman was also a very astute politician, which is how he weaseled his way up the ladder until HKBH saved us. If you believe everything you hear from politicians, you must not be paying very much attention to what they actually do.

Secondly, how does anything that Trump does prove what Vance stands for? Trump chose a politically opportune running mate that generally aligns with his backers. I can assure you that Vance isn’t stupid enough to push for anything he knows Trump would strongly oppose while Trump is still the President. You need to judge JD Vance as JD Vance, not based on what Trump does.

Judging Vance on his own words and actions, we haven’t seen anything that would indicate an appreciation for Jews in general. Again, condemning antisemitism is basically empty lip service in today’s political arena. What have you seen that legitimately shows any sort of interest in the Jewish population? While I haven’t seen any real indicators in either direction, he definitely pushes an isolationist agenda, meaning even if he is pro-Israel on paper, he cares about them only inasmuch as they help him. He has repeatedly hinted that he supports keeping the USA to itself and letting the rest of the world fight things out themselves. Whether you are pro-Zionist or anti-Zionist, the reality is that American support for the state of Israel is helpful for Jews around the world. On paper, the alliance between the USA and Israel is what is helping the state of Israel have stability and security. (Yes, I know Hashem is the real reason. That’s why I said on paper. This is a question of hishtadlus / which politicians to vote for, not a question of who runs the world.)

His support of “open dialogue” with the Tucker Carlson types does raise some red flags as far as I’m concerned. Tucker Carlson is an anti-Jew demagogue. If you haven’t heard Carlson go on about Jews outside of the Zionism discussions, you should do some more research. Anyone who doesn’t dislike Jews most likely sees him for what he is. (If you don’t know what a demagogue is, its worth looking it up. It’s very prevalent in today’s media.) If Vance can get on board with someone like Carlson, who makes up facts and arguments, and has an odd obsession with Jews and Israel, then I’m definitely not going to jump into his arms and assume he has any of my interests at heart. We may align on many political positions, but I see no reason to trust him in any way.

I was considering not commenting on what you said partly because it’s so obvious it doesn’t need to be said, and partly because I doubt my words will make an impression. Nevertheless I will speak hoping that maybe you are mature enough to consider the words of others.

I commend you on using your brain and thinking for yourself. Following the crowd without thought is a plague that affects many people. However, I’m pretty sure that if, by your own admission, the Gedolim wouldn’t like what you have to say (meaning they disagree with you), then you basically said it all yourself.

You have every right to ask a question looking for an answer, but to have the brazenness to disagree with such confidence that you must know better based off of one Mishna you learned, just screams that you should re-evaluate how you look at the leaders of Klal Yisroel. Are they just regular people like you and me playing politics, or are they wise scholars who truly understand the will of Hashem based on years of study and spiritual growth. I’m not saying turn off your brain. I’m saying have the recognition that there are people more educated and wiser than you that probably have a real answer to your question. Do you write off a Tosafos as silly because you think there’s an obvious flaw in his logic? I certainly hope not.

I could argue about math with a Mathematician who has spent years researching the topic, but I would just look like a fool doing so.

I would suggest that if you actually care about getting an answer, you should take the minimal effort necessary to ask one of the Gedolim or a real Talmid Chochom, Gadol or not, what is the justification for Kollel learning in light of the Mishna that you use to attack the lifestyle of people dedicated to doing the will of Hashem. If you truly can’t find one, please let me know. I can put you in touch with a few very easily. Unfortunately, I suspect that you’re not interested in an answer based on the tone of your writing. I hope I am wrong.
