It’s Election Day today. Anyone who lives in Cedarhurst and is fuming about the meters needs to make their voice heard today.
My business is in Cedarhurst.
I don’t think it’s anti semitism, just plain old looking to make more money
When a town goes out of its way to catch and ticket cars as soon as the meter is up, they run a huge risk of driving shoppers to other towns.
o me, that is penny wise and pound foolish.
It may increase revenues now, but do far greater damage in the long term.
You obviously aren’t familiar with the oppresive ticketing in Cedarhurst.
These new meters are equipped with sensors which alert the meter officers if a car is still in its spot when the time in the meter expires. This allows them to quickly find and ticket cars as soon as the time in the meter is up. The sensors also automatically reset the meter as soon as a car leaves so that the next driver cannot (heaven forbid) benefit from the remaining time that was paid by the first car.
There also seems to be some shady business with the company that installed them.
BTW, yes it is very convenient to be able to use a credit card, but you forgot to mention one important caveat…
There is a $1.00 minimum for credit cards…
makes no difference if your there for 2 minutes or 2 hours…
and then you lose the balance when you pull away.
ChofetzChaim, I saw on a different post that you have a Mishnayos calulator in Excel. Can I get a copy?
