wlcome everybody been out for a little. thanks to cofee to get me back here.

    welcome gamzi and metoo.

i understand that durning you were talking about on the sensor. i havent worn the sensor for a couple of weeks already. also when i pull the pin (that meatle needle in the sensor) the blood starts to come. HELP!!!!

Princess- you can come over and borrow the sensor whenever you want. I will even teach you how to use it. Lol

Right now I am holding off until after shabbos at least. I find that my numbers are good even without the sensor. The prebolusing was the biggest and best change that really made a big difference. The higher the number the longer the wait.

Alls- I would think that you should wait. Or if you can now see how it is.

Hey princess are you doing the prebolus thing. I find that my numbers have been so much better. Sorry that things are out of whack.

Alls- yeh being a kallah is enough of a reason to throw you off schedule adding to that the D makes things absolutely crazy. The lack of schedule really affects the numbers. Remembering when I was a chosson I think things were a little difficult. Don’t worry because after marriage things will settle down until…

Reb- I am still Davening for you. Hold on tight for the right guy.

I myself am not impressed so much with the sensor. I am constantly waking up in middle of the night silencing the alarms!!!!!! Well it did wake me up am I was a 37!!! I guess that was good! Lol but come on at that number anybody would have woken up! Sensored or not!

Oh well I am taking a break from the sensor for a few days. One less thing going into me. Lol

Wow, I felt like I was eating all this past week. Time to go on a diet. Just to cut out on snacking and try smaller size portions ( if that is possible).

true if a person is neglegent and doesn’t take care of themself then that is not a good sign. however if one does take care of themself there is no reason to worry that a person should say no espesially when one can live a normal life.

shabbos was truly AMAZING. speaches from dr.s and rabonim. food, dancing, the feeling of oneness. its just impossible to describe.

i just hope they can do it again.

Forever – you are absolutely right. The stomach really is not the place to do it. On my leg it does feel better but after a day or so I starts to irritate me.

I was wondering if I can tape down the sensor with a bandaid instead of the iv3000. It doesn’t cover the whole thing and then water gets in.

You have a good point about doing it 3x In a row. I will try it hopefully next time.

Cofee- hopefully after shabbos you will be back to normal.

I tried the cgm on my leg this time and so far it is not so bothersom. One thing that is a little tricky with the cgm is calibrating it when I can’t eat. I have to have that two hour period then wait before doing the six hour calibration. I always have to keep in mind If I am allowed to eat now. But I must admit that I do appreciate it and like the purpose that it fills. The food thing also is that if I want to take a break from wearing it I can as apposed to the pump where I can’t do that.

Princess- hang in there do not give up we are with you

Cofee- you are right about that it does itch. I was waking up in the middle of the night at one point because it was burning and itching me. Even after I pulled it out that feeling was there for the next day.

I did think that it was pretty cool how it worked and I did try harder to keep in range like for example I would wait longer and prebolus before eating so that my number would be more optimal.

I am going to try a different spot and hopefully it will feel better.

How are you feeling now that the boot is off?

This shabbos is the fwd event. I heard that neesha will be there. I am so excited to meet again. Maybe I can convince neesha to come back to Brooklyn. Lol

cofee-hurray that the foot is free. are you running the marathon yet? lol

princess- is this shabbos better than last?

alls- how was the first shabbos?????? isn’t it great to bolus wherever!!!! how are you hiding the pod?

mosh3- i will keep you in mind. i think that you should have one person who knows so just in case you need something you have somebody to help you. the rebitzen will not always be available for example on trips or at night etc…

guess what everybody this is my first time on a sensor. it feels weird. i have it in my stomach and its not so comfy. i am hoping to switch it to my leg. i realize that there is that lag time that i have to get used to.

cofee-hurray great for you that is amazing. i have been trying forever to get my a1c below 7. before i was on thw pump my average a1c was 6.5, but once i got the pump i am always above 7. that is because the pump knocked out most of my lows.

now i am trying to prebolus, and i have been doing exercise more often. hopfully that will help.

Sweet- I didn’t know either medtronic just called me up and said we will come and that was it. When I trained for the pump I practiced in my stomach and got an anxiety attack lol I almost passed out on him. I have no clue why that should happen.

Princess- yes shabbos is sometimes hard. Friday night I woke up with a 34 and couldn’t tell the difference in taste between grape juice and apple juice b”h I am ok.

    i just got a 7.1 on my a1c

i didn’t think that a girl would say no just because i have D. especially since i was pretty much under control

i told my wife myself… and I totally agree w/ alls when it comes from the guy or girl herslf it’s taking a further step into the relationship, coming from parents- i would think would make the other side more wary. “a medical issue” yeah, but we look and act 100% normal and a healthy looking person sitting in front of you is proof of that!

When you explain it on a date youreslf, you can give some explanation, what you do, how it affects your daily life. Coming from a parent makes it more secretive and ominous sounding

driving for me is not so bad, even if i am low i will fell it and i always have juice in the glove compartment if needed. my moods don’t really change so much when i am high or low, maybe because i am a boy. however my kids do get very kvetchy for both high or low.

princess- you sound much more positive about trying to get things under control. don’t give up.

driving was enjoyable but long. i usually don’t eat while i drive and so my numbers were pretty good. my kids were way out and i am now changing theis settings.

about the carb ratio and then cutting down- you firswt have to know how much your body needs per carb. if not every time you eat you will be out of control. so you first have to know your ratio and then you can eat acordingly. i myself hace two different carb ratios deppending on the time of day. also i have different basal settings also. you have to figure out your basal settings based on the time of day. i figure it out when i fast.

cofee- happy for you that the boot is coming off. do you plan on playing soccer tommorow. eat a lot before you do. 🙂

allsgr8- i am so happy that you are getting the omni i hope that you have even better control than before.

princess – once you figure out the carb ratio then you can cut down on how much you eat. i myself took a long time till i got my ratio straight, but until then i was hard. keep on going you will get it.

I must say that things have been more like a roller coaster. I have been on the road driving about 1000 miles and then Tom tov. whew it’s up and down, constantly testing constantly correcting constantly eating. Now that is a lot of weight for me. I have another 1000 miles to get back, help. I basically didn’t eat while driving.

Mosh3 what are you worried about nobody is going to look at you different if they know and besides your chavrusah should also know just is case. About your mother don’t worry it she is being concerned about you ( maybe a little to much) .

i have a second betweem the vacuming and scrubbing so i will write.

sunday we were in manhattan for a research concering as new type of infusion set. it’s meant to be like a generic brand. it is compatible with the animas pump. it’s really flat on the body, and pretty easy to insert. it has a protective cover over the trigger so you wont insert it before you are ready. also it features the needle inside the “shooter” so that you dont really see the needle within the canula, and you wont by mistake prick yourself. one thing that was cool about it is that there is a spring inside the set (which is on the body) that if the canula ever comes out of the body it tells the pump that there is no delivery.

it was fun being there, even for the kids, especially for the fact that there was a street fare right there.

also i got my new pump today hurray, with a cgm!!!!!!!!!!!!

princess- allsgr8 said it very well.

kepping your numbers good is the first part. once you have your carb ratio set then you can go down on the carbs and eat a little less.

dr. goldman is of the opinion that one should barely eat any carbs. i tried it for one day and gave up. however you do try not to overdo it on the carbs.

meaning: if you carb ratio is a little off the more you eat the bigger the difference in what your supposed to get.

so keep it up and DON’T GIVE UP!!!
