I just came back to this site and read some of the responses. Although I appreciate everyone’s concern and advice, if you noticed, I asked for advice on good vacation websites deals, NOT on your opinion of whether or not I should go.

I am a 25 year old girl, going with a 27 year old female friend. We are not males who need minyan or a beis medresh. Although pritzus is relevant for males and females, it is totally different. Shmiras aynayim is a must, however it is not assur for me to see a female in a bathing suite as it is with a male. The reason I want to go now more than ever to the bahamas, is because iyH when I get married, I will not go to a beach area with my husband.

Additionally, I did not even know there were casino’s or gambling there, as that is not and would never be, something I’d be interested in doing… but thank you for opening up my eyes to assur things I have available.

In terms of zika, I appreciate your concern, and I actually had called up the CDC before deciding to go to the Bahamas to make sure it is Zika free.

Stepping out of my initial reaction of getting yelled at from everyone as to my vacation plans without being asked for their opinions and without them even knowing me, I do realize that you all mean well and are only saying what you are saying because you care about me as a Jew and about my yiddishkeit.

Therefore, thank you for caring. I give you a bracha that you should be as careful with your own yidishkeit as you are with others, you should judge yourself with the same ease as you judge others, you should conquer your yetzer hara always, you should be protected from all harm- physically and spiritually, and you should never hurt others feelings.

Thanks for your help, may we all have a safe remainder of the nine days and may Hashem protect us always.

Hi! I am a proud graduate of Bais Yaakov Machon Raaya. Being that there are only 30 of us, we really get to know each other well. I was fortunate enough to be with the administrators, principal, faculty, and girls for only one short year. I don’t have facebook, I don’t talk to boys, I don’t watch movies, I don’t watch t.v, and surprisingly enough, I don’t even have texting. We Machon Raaya students decided on our own last year to learn hilchos shmiras halashon every day by lunch. If you or anyone else who read this thread is interested in a true description about what Machon Raaya is really about, I’m sure you can contact the school and they will give you my friends or my number and we’d be glad to answer all of your questions. Hatzlacha Rabba
