NYPD Officer Stabbed In The Head To Be Released From Hospital

A NYPD officer who suffered a stab wound to the head is expected to be released from the hospital Wednesday.

Officer Eder Loor was stabbed in the head last month while responding to a call of an emotionally disturbed person in East Harlem.

Doctors said the knife penetrated his temple and went through his skull and into his brain, but narrowly missed vitals areas and a main artery.

Loor, who is also a trained EMT, was able to pull the knife out of his head before collapsing on the sidewalk.

The 28-year-old cop underwent surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital to remove a blood clot.

The suspect, 26-year-old Terrence Hale, was arrested and charged with attempted aggravated murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
