(Click on image to ENLARGE) According to the weather forecasts, Jerusalem is expected to be covered in white by Wednesday.

They are predicting heavy snow that would begin Tuesday afternoon and continue through Thursday. The snow is supposed to cover the mountains of the Galil, Jerusalem, Yehuda and Shomron, and even the mountains in the Negev.

The temperature is expected to reach below 0 degrees Celsius and the winds are to reach 150 kilometers per hour.

Due to the expected high winds, the residents of Jerusalem are requested to reinforce all objects on the roofs including antennas and solar heaters.

The Jerusalem municipality has set up a special team to deal with the snow. This team will try to make sure that all main roads, especially those that lead to the large hospitals, remain open. The snow plows are all prepared.

Hatzolah Israel in cooperation with the police is also on alert. They have opened a special project called “Chesed in White”. Citizens who own 4×4 vehicles have been organized to quickly aid drivers who get trapped in the snow. They will also be available to assist sick people or pregnant women who need transport to the hospitals.
