White House Says It Values Diversity But Won’t Disclose Number of Black Employees

White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders says the White House values diversity, but she would not say how many black staffers there are in the West Wing.

Pressed by reporters Wednesday for a specific number, Sanders said: “I’m not going to go through and do a count.”

The lack of diversity in President Donald Trump’s administration has come under fresh scrutiny in the wake of a new tell-all book from former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman, who was the highest ranking African-American official on Trump’s staff.

Sanders added: “We would love to diversify our staff and continue to do so.”

  1. My take on Trump is to put in the best person for the job and not be concerned with his color or religion or sex. Obama made certain to have women in key positions because it looked good to the people even though those in office were inefficient too.

Trump seems more intent on putting a effiecent person who does a good job in; just like running a business, you want to make money, so you don’t care who is working as long as he/she does the job great and gets on with everyone.

  2. So he puts the “best people” in the positions? LOL! What planet have you been living on?? They might as well install a revolving door in the White House.

  3. luckshen kugel – you have not been paying attention. Some of the people Mr. Trump has appointed were so unsuited to their posts that they left everyone scratching their heads in puzzlement. Most of the ones who were competent he fired. Maybe he’s trying to put in the best, but that just means he’s a terrible judge of people. Face it, the guy is a reality television personality, not a politician or an administrator. Reagan was a movie star, which required a little more in the way of competence than TV, and he did serve an apprenticeship as governor of California. Trump is just a pretty face and an uncontrolled twitter finger.
