HATE IN JACKSON: Jewish Owned Property Defaced With Swastikas; NJ Has 3rd Most Hate in US

A property under development in Jackson NJ was found defaced with Swastikas and anti-Semitic slurs earlier this week.

The hate was found in the vicinity of South New Prospect Road.

Authorities were quick to respond, and immediately tore down the siding of the property.

It should be noted that this property was slated for demolition as it is soon to be developed.

The Jackson Police Department released the following statement:

The Jackson Police Department is investigating a bias incident involving burglary and criminal mischief which occurred at a property in the Township.

On Wednesday April 30, 2019 at approximately 2:50 pm, officers responded to a property located on Valley Road on the report of anti-Semitic graffiti being found. The location was an unoccupied/abandoned house located approximately 400 feet from the road on a wooded, 10 acre property. The house was reportedly scheduled to be demolished later this week.

Officers observed that the windows of the house had all been broken and that there were swastikas spray painted on the exterior of the residence along with the word, “Hitler”. Upon entering the house, extensive damage was discovered including all windows being broken and damage to the sheetrock walls. Additionally, there were multiple areas on the interior where profanity was spray painted on the walls along with additional derogatory remarks directed towards those of the Jewish faith and African Americans. There was a second abandoned structure on the property that was not affected.

It is suspected that the damage was done between April 19th and April 30th. During a neighborhood canvas, a resident reported hearing noise in the area the previous evening but did not report it.

Additional patrols have been directed in the area and the incident is being investigated by Jackson Police Detective John Rodriguez. There are no suspects to this incident at this time and anyone with any information on this incident is asked to contact the Jackson Police Department at 732-928-1111.

Meanwhile, as expected, the Facebook hate page “Rise Up Ocean County” called the reporting of this story “fabrications” and “embellishment”, while the comments by the anti-Semitic animals followed.

Meanwhile, a new report released on Tuesday by the ADL (the “Anti-Defamation League”), reveals that 200 anti-Semitic incidents were documented across the state of New Jersey in 2018, the 3rd highest number of reported incidents anywhere in the nation. While anti-Jewish activity in New Jersey declined 4% from the prior year, it remains 20% higher than the historic statewide average of 167 incidents per year, recorded since 1979.

This is the second straight year of above-average anti-Semitic activity in the state, and follows four consecutive years of double-digit increases in the state from 2014-2017. New Jersey trailed only California (341) and New York (340) in total number of incidents in 2018.

  1. Most misleading stat ever! NJ has one of the highest Jewish populations. Hence the higher number of anti semitic attacks. (Theres not gonna be many anti semitic attacks in Wyoming etc).

  2. @antibias

It’s not misleading at all and your population fact actually counters the point you were trying to make.

Attacks (not just anti-semetic ones) generally occur when the attacking party outnumbers the party being attacked (as most of the attackers are actually cowards).

  3. Time for klal Yisroel to wake up and do teshuva as a loving nation together. Nothing is coincidence. Every tragedy has a direct reason and wake up call message from Hashem why it happened.

How May times were our grandparents warned before WWII to leave Europe? How many do you think listened? Very little compared to the 6 million lives that were lost R”L

don’t wait until the last minute to leave don’t wait until it’s too late C”V

May we all come together very soon to do teshuva.
