HATE IN FLATBUSH: Jewish Man Attacked On Avenue J, Hit With Belt, Anti-Jewish Slurs Used


The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is once again investigating a bias attack – this time in the heart of the Flatbush Jewish Community.

The NYPD tells YWN that is happened on Avenue J and East 15th Street on Shabbos (Saturday) evening, around 7:00PM.

The victim told police he was walking down the street, when two men – possibly intoxicated – used anti-Jewish slurs at him, and hit him in the face with a belt. The two men fled on foot. The victim says no words were exchanged prior to the unprovoked attack.

The victim refused medical attention.

  1. It is time to start patrolling the streets ourselves and not by shomrim or shmira. Let these thugs know that we will fight back and injure them badly if we catch them attacking one of us! Forget the courts. The NYPD is not effective in stopping these attacks.

  3. This is not the new norm. 40 years ago on a friday a friend of mine and I were walking on J near e. 14 and we were accosted by black guys. They grabbed my friends hat but eventually gave it back. They harassed us.
