Video & Photos: Holocaust Denier Comes To Town

The following article was written by Gabe Pressman, Senior Correspondant for WNBC, and appearing on the WNBC website.

It’s definitely no way to treat a guest and New Yorkers usually are pretty hospitable. But this guy should get lost–or jump in the East River–or just go home.

The president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has come to New York, the home of more Jewish people than any place outside of Israel, to denounce Jews, deny the Holocaust and tell the United States to go to hell. We should reciprocate, saying, in effect: ”Mahmoud, here’s your hat. We hope you’ll hurry!”

I have seen the remains of some of the six million souls of the European Jewish community who perished in Auschwitz, Birkenau and Dachau. I have held baby shoes stripped from the corpses left in the gas chambers before they were burned. I have been horrified at the efficiency of the Nazi executioners.

And this man persists in denying the Holocaust. Many Jewish families in New York lost relatives in the Holocaust. Most Jews empathize with the suffering endured by fellow Jews as a result of Hitler’s madness. Ahmadinejad has come to the 63rd session of the United Nations General Assembly to peddle his propaganda and to defend the program he has launched, military people believe, to produce a nuclear bomb.

He has issued a challenge to Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain to debate him at UN headquarters. I can’t believe that either candidate for president of the United States would dignify this phony baloney, this Holocaust denier, this anti-Semitic, anti-American dictator by accepting his challenge. Like many dictators he has an exalted opinion of himself.

Under the Iranian president’s administration, Human Rights Watch and the International Campaign for Human Rights charge, human rights in Iran have deteriorated, violating international law.

Last year, New York officials refused to allow Ahmadinejad to lay a wreath at Ground Zero. Perhaps this year, if he doesn’t leave town in a hurry, we should extend him an invitation to visit the Museum of the Jewish Heritage down at the Battery. This Museum tells the tragic story of the Holocaust, in stark terms. Ahmadinejad need go no further than the southern tip of Manhattan to see proof that there was the Holocaust he denies.

The man who urged that ”Israel should be wiped off the map” should visit this place that memorializes the six million who were wiped off the map. Their memory will endure, we can hope, long after his hurtful diatribes are forgotten.

  1. How could these Neturai Karta animals not be ashamed of themselves? How can we allow these sick excuses for human beings to continue on in public with their rantings and ravings? Besides for the massive chillul Hashem, what about the rivers of blood that fill the streets of Eretz Yisroel. I know that this is not a very clear comment, but after just watching the video of them, I am so mad and hurt – not really sure what to say or how to say it – I am crying inside. Hashem should guard us and our brethren in Ertz Yisroel.

  2. Why is so much publicity given to these animals masquerading as frum yidden. Yeshiva World News should not be showing any videos featuring these monsters. Also who let them demonstrate in such a prominent position

  3. good question JB! thats exactly their problem they have no halachic backing.and not even that, but the satmar rav Zt”l whom they base their philosophy on, was always against talking or sticking up for the other side! thanx for the insight

  4. Can’t we find out where these neturei Karta work so we can stop supporting them and put pressure on their employer to fire them, bottom line money is a language everyone understands!!

  5. Say what you want about the NK and the suicidal things they do; but you cant argue with a thing the guy said.
    1. The founders of Zionism were anti-Torah.
    2. They were trying to change Judaism from a Torah-based religion into a G-dless National homeland-based religion. Reb Chaim Brisker said that 100 years ago too.
And the kid asking the question was a pure mechutzaf.

  6. Problem with the NK is that they don’t have jobs. If they were gainfully employed, they would not have time to do what they are infamous for.

They neither learn Torah nor work for a living.
That makes them useless in the eyes of the civilized and religious world.
