NY State Senator Parker Presents $100,000 Check to BPJCC

parker.jpgState Senator Kevin Parker presented a check representing $100,000 of capitol funds to Borough Park Jewish Community Council (BPJCC) on Wednesday, December 10, 2008.  Rabbi Yechiel Kaufman, Executive Director of BPJCC along with Mrs. Miriam Lubling, Director of Medical and Holocaust Survivors Services at BPJCC were present to accept the check.  In his endeavors to build and maintain strong institutions in the district, Senator Parker has supported the Boro Park community since he was elected. The check will be used to fund necessary improvements and development to the center’s facilities.

“The Jewish Community Council have always been and will continue to be a vital part of the Boro Park community, providing tremendous leadership and consultation for our constituents,” said Senator Parker.  “I am pleased to present them with capitol funds to assist them in their efforts.”

BPJCC is a not-for-profit organization that addresses the urgent social service needs of  over 180,000 constituents within the Boro Park community by providing advocacy and referral programs related to housing, health and social care services. The special event recognizes Boro Park’s Jewish communities’ rich yet tragic past after the Holocaust.  The area is surrounded with primarily Jewish immigrants and represents the charitable practices of the past mixed with the contemporary community.

  1. Maybe now people can stop whining “what does parker do from us” while blindly supporting Simcha Felder.

Parker knows how to produce for all of his constituencies, including our community.

May he continue to do so for many years to come, and hopefully in the future our community will do a better job of showing Hakoras Hatov to this public servant.
