Felder Endorses Mark Green For Public Advocate

felder1.jpgStatement from NYC Councilman Simcha Felder:

I am extremely disappointed by the Campaign Finance Board’s decision to allow Public Advocate candidates to begin fundraising for a runoff election. What, exactly, the Public Advocate’s office does for the City of New York is not particularly clear. Nonetheless, this decision gives the candidates access to upwards of $1 million of taxpayer dollars, which is in addition to the millions of taxpayer dollars that the city wastes to fund the office of the Public Advocate.

Therefore, I encourage New Yorkers to support Mark Green for Public Advocate in order to prevent a wasteful runoff election from further leeching off the city’s limited resources.

In these tough economic times, there are countless teachers, police officers, firefighters, and other civil servants whose work could dramatically benefit from these financial resources. Let’s be smarter with the use of taxpayer money.
