Flatbush Shomrim Nabs Long Wanted Thief

police-chase-ch.gifFor the past two years, many people in Flatbush have woken up in the morning only to notice that their car (or their neighbors car) is lifted up onto cinder-blocks, and all four tires missing. Flatbush Shomrim and the NYPD have been trying to catch this crook for years, but never any luck. He is quick moving, and an expert at what he does. He finds high-end cars such as a Lexus, Infinity etc. which have expensive rims on the tires. He jacks up the car, takes off the tires, places the car onto bricks (cinder-blocks) and is gone in minutes with the expensive rims.

Last night, while the Flatbush community was fast asleep, Flatbush Shomrim witnessed this perp jack-up a car and proceed to take off the tires. Shomrim attempted to apprehend the suspect, but he was quick – and made off in his car.

Shomrim followed the suspect onto the Belt Parkway without being noticed, and was in radio contact with the NYPD at all times. They successfully stopped his vehicle at the foot of the Verrazzano Bridge – and arrested him. It turned out, that he had an extensive rap sheet – including gun charges, drug charges, and robbery/burglary charges.

The Flatbush Shomrim Coordinator, Mr. Chaim Deutsch told Yeshivawrld that they suspect “he was the thief responsible for hundreds of stolen rims”. “We are glad we got this guy off our streets”, Deutsch told Yeshivaworld. “We encourage the Flatbush residents to call Shomrim’s 24hr emergency hot-line at 718-338-9797 if you observe any crime or suspicious activity.”

It’s good to know that we have such dedicated individuals in Flatbush patrolling our streets to make them safer for all of us!

  1. Shomrim deserves a lot of credit. They are always there for us. Chaim Deutsch together with one of the other leaders in Shomrim – Yaakov Gade are super people always ready to do whatever needs to be done for the Klal. I know them both and they are really great.

Thank you Yaakov, Thank you Chaim and thank you to all of the Shomrim network.

    GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!

  2. Four years ago, in flatbush, I too woke up to find my car on milk crates. It seems that the rims were worth $400 apiece on the street. I now buy $10 tire locks on every car I get. While they won’t stop a real professional, they will slow down anyone who tries. My logic is the profesional will leave my tires alone as there are so many with out locks. I am glad that they got this guy, but I hesitate to state that this was the only guy ripping tires off our cars. We have to go to the source. The market for these ‘hot’ tires. If a tire shop can’t produce paperwork on a rim or tire than their whole stock should be confiscated!
