Israel: 100 Physicians Submit Letters Of Resignation

As the residents and the treasury continue to battle over conditions and salary for the soon-to-be doctors, one hundred senior physicians in Israel submitted letters of resignation today, Tuesday, November 15, 2011. They explain their actions are a response to the collapse of the nation’s medical system.

This includes 40 doctors in Haifa’s Rambam Medical Center and 40 doctors from Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, and more are planning to join, including physicians from Hillel Yafeh Hospital (Hadera), and Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer in Tel Aviv.

These resignations, which will take effect in 30 days, are from veteran doctors, specialists in the nation’s medical community.
