Israel: Driver Clocked at 200 KPH in Custody

For some, the media campaigns urging drivers to operate motor vehicles safely, adhering to legal limits; accompanied by increased enforcement and deterrence such as hefty fines simply do not seem to work for all of us. This would be the case for one driver, a 39-year-old Jerusalem resident who was apprehended on motzei Shabbos on Route traveling at 200 KPH (120 MPH) when the maximum speed limit is 90 KPH (54 MPH).

The driver, who was operating a Mazda 3, told police “wow, I can’t believe I was traveling that fast”.

To assist him in becoming a believer, his vehicle was impounded and he was placed under arrest, sitting behind bars awaiting his appearance before the court.
