NYPD Removes OWS Protesters In Union Square

The Occupy Wall Street movement returned to Union Square and police quickly moved in.

At least one person was reportedly arrested early Wednesday morning.

About 300 demonstrators– some taunting police officers– were removed from the park in Manhattan by police– some in riot gear.

Dozens of cops surrounded the park just after midnight and at least two FDNY ambulances were called to the scene, reported the NY Daily News.
The scene had quieted down significantly several hours later.

The Occupy Wall Street movement has been a rather unorganized protest against economic inequality that started in Zuccotti Park last summer.
