A Torah event was held in Yerushalayim�s Binyanei Ha�uma on Sunday, 16 Nissan 5772 for talmidim from Sephardi Yeshivot. The guest of honor at the ???? ???? ??? event was Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita. The event was arranged by Shas� Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Eli Simchayoff.

Thousands of talmidim and avreichim attended to pay kovod to the gadol hador as well as many Sephardi poskim who attended, headed by Rishon L�Tzion HaGaon HaRav Shlomo Moshe Amar Shlita, Rishon L�Tzion HaGaon HaRav Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron Shlita, HaMekubal HaRav Binayahu Shmueli, HaGaon HaRav Reuven Elbaz Shlita, HaGaon HaRav Moshe Tzadka and HaGaon HaRav Shimon Badani Shlita.

Undoubtedly the highlight of the evening occurred at about 21:00 when Rav Ovadia entered, prompting the thousands in attendance to jump to their feet and begin singing. They remained standing for over an hour as they welcomed the gadol hador.
