Yair Lapid Officially Launches his Political Party

Yair Lapid has taken the step, officially filing with election officials to launch his Yesh Atid (There is a Future) party. Lapid, like so many others who preceded him promises to champion the plight of the working man, the middle class, not forgetting to mention he will demand “sharing the burden” and push for compulsory military or national service for all.

Interestingly, some of the radio news hosts on Monday, 8 Iyar 5772 commented on how Lapid did serve in the IDF, assisting his country as a correspondent for the IDF BaMachane magazine, mocking his non-combatant military service.

Lapid writes that in the coming months, the citizens will have to decide if it is just giving up on 60,000 people, referring to the number of chareidim learning, or will they opt to vote for him and support his plans to change realities so that all citizens carry the defense and security burden equally.

  1. Ah, he did his service as a correspondent, just like Algore. Nothing wrong with that, I suppose, but surely Torah learning is at least as important as writing for some newspaper? No?
