Early Morning Update from Meron


The night began in the regular tradition, with the Boyaner Rebbe Shlita lighting the main bonfire. While there are no official police figures regarding the number of people taking part in the event during the night, by all accounts there are many tens of thousands.

At 01:30 Rishon L’Tzion HaGaon HaRav Shlomo Moshe Amar Shlita lit another bonfire.

Magen David Adom reports treating 60 people during the night, most with extremity fractures and/or soft tissue injuries, the result of falling.

Ichud Hatzalah provides the following updates: 10:28: 53 people treated so far, one in moderate condition due to a fall. The others listed in light condition with fractures and/or soft tissue injuries.

11:56: 117 people treated in total.

01:53: A fire broke out in the hachnasas orchim tent near the tziyun. Firefighters and IH on the scene. Baruch Hashem there were only six people requiring treatment for light smoke inhalation.

04:00: IH physicians, paramedics and hundreds of EMTs remain scattered around the Rashbi area. A total of 150 people have been treated to date.
