Lieberman: Gaza Defense Obstacle Construction is Effective and on Schedule

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman took a tour of the Gaza periphery defenses on Wednesday. As part of the tour, Lieberman was shown the continuing development of the obstacle being constructed along the border with the Hamas ruled territory. Following the tour, he held a briefing with the high-ranking officers in the area.

“The development of the obstacle along the border with Gaza is coming along in a satisfactory manner, and in accordance with its scheduled timetable,” said Leiberman. “Even now the project is proving itself worthwhile on a daily basis and the results from the field are very positive. The creation of the obstacle will drastically improve the security of the residents who live in the Gaza periphery and the southern part of Israel. This obstacle will hamper the intentions and attempts of our enemies to harm us.”

Lieberman added that: “Over the past three years the south has benefited greatly and blossomed due to the security and quiet that has come across the area following Operation Protective Edge. The past year and a half prove that even more. The IDF units that are stationed here are doing exemplary work and providing security for the local residents and the entire area. We are working to build this obstacle so that the situation stays this way.”

  1. Wonderful. The best defense is a good offense. Israel needs to be prepared to respond to provocations with extreme force. Nothing Israel will do, offensive or defensive, will be recognized as its sovereign right, and everything will be condemned by the UN and many nations of the world. But it needs to ignore that, muster whatever political and international clout it can, prepare the best strategy possible, daven and beseech from HKB”H His help, and be ready to eradicate Hamas.
