Israel’s prime minister says Israel stands with the United States following the deadly truck attack on a New York City bike path.

Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement Wednesday addressed to President Donald Trump, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.

“To President Trump, Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio: We stand with our friends in New York and all Americans following yet another horrible Islamist terror attack. We pray for the victims and their families. Together we will defeat this scourge.”

Israel is one of the United States’ closest allies.

Eight people were killed and at least 11 seriously injured in Tuesday’s truck attack near the World Trade Center.
