Young Drowning Victim Successfully Resuscitated In Tel Aviv


Just before 9:30am on Wednesday, 12 Cheshvan, a youngster was pulled out of the water at the Jerusalem Beach in Tel Aviv. The youngster had drowned and was pulled out of the water unconscious and not breathing. Volunteers from United Hatzalah emergency medical services (EMS) organization arrived at the scene and succeeded in resuscitated the young man.

Avi Amar, a volunteer EMT with United Hatzalah said following the incident: “When I arrived at the location of the drowning victim on my ambucycle I found a youngster who was unconscious and not breathing after he had been pulled out of the water by passersby. Together with other EMS volunteer and the ambulance crew, we performed CPR on the young man and he regained a pulse at the scene. He was then transported to the hospital for further care in serious but stable condition.”
