HaGaon Rav Mutzafi on the “Political Gezeiros” Facing the Chareidim in Eretz Yisrael

HaGaon HaRav Bentzion Mutzafi, a prominent sephardi posek in Eretz Yisrael, addressed the outcome of the Knesset election vis-à-vis the Torah world.

The rav explained “If we were real chareidim, and would block the breaches in our community, this would not be the situation today”.

Rav Mutzafi spoke of the complicated political situation that resulted following elections, as each of the big parties, Likud and Blue & White, do not have sufficient backing to assemble a coalition government without the other.

The rav explains the situation and that “gezeiros that will follow against the Torah world would not occur if we were true chareidim and block the breaches in our camp, this simply would not have come to us”. The rav fears the gezeiros that will target the chareidi tzibur may include drafting of bnei yeshivos, Reform Jews at the Kosel, mass Chilul Shabbos, hounding religion and more, all because the chareidi tzibur is not behaving as it should.

On Wednesday, Blue & White party leader MK Benny Gantz ruled out the possibility of entering into a coalition government with the chareidi parties. At the start of meetings on Wednesday, Minister (Likud) Yariv Levin announced that he represents “the bloc built by Likud with three additional right-wing parties and the chareidi parties”.

Analysts explain that for as long as PM Netanyahu remains loyal to the chareidim and right-wing, he will not be able to agree to terms towards forming a coalition government with Blue & White and the only other alternative is a third round of elections.

  1. you don’t have to be a prophet to figure it out. once Netanyahu is indicted, many Likud members and Liberman and blue and white will unite to form a rock-solid centrist government without the left, ultra-right, chareidim and arabs.

next a 2-state solution, peace with many arab states and the days of the Moshiach are close at hand.

    lu yehi
