Jersey Shore Areas Can Expect Up To A Foot Of Snow

oemnysUp to a foot of snow is expected in areas along the Jersey Shore where near white out conditions have been reported.

Plows and salt spreaders are struggling to keep up with the downfall, and driving conditions are treacherous.

Icy roads are causing accidents in many Monmouth County towns, and authorities are urging residents to stay home.

The Route 35 bridge connecting Belmar and Avon was closed earlier Tuesday after a crash. The elevated surface made it difficult for tires to get traction. It was shut down while crews worked to plow and de-ice it.

“I think the roads are pretty slippery so I’m glad to be going home and I’m staying there and I just hope that all my kids get home,” says Evelyn Quinn, of Wall Township. “So I’ll be happy when everyone’s home and safe.”
