Changed: A Musical Production Like Never Before

[COMMUNICATED CONTENT] In just three days, the best of Broadway comes to Brooklyn with Changed, a first-of-its-kind musical drama of exceptional caliber designed and produced by Bnot Chaya Academy (BCA), the Carol Tepler High School for Girls.
Set to captivate hundreds of viewers on February 22-23 and March 1-2, Changed features a world-class cast, breathtaking effects, and a powerful inspirational message, showcasing the most celebrated female artists in the frum world, including Malky Giniger, Mindi Weinstock, Chava Rosenbaum, Miriam Leah Droz, and star cameo Shaindel Antelis. These professionally-trained superstars—accompanied by dozens of other gifted community women and girls—will perform in brilliant appearances, their astounding theatric, choreographic and vocal talents magnified by the production’s flawless technical standards.
“Changed gives frum audiences the rare chance to enjoy quality entertainment with a message that reflects their values,” says Chani Segal, Executive Director of BCA. “It’s an exquisite combination of inspirational and professional.”
But what sets this play apart is not just its superlative stagecraft, or the outstanding splash of talent it’s brought together. All proceeds from Changed will benefit Bnot Chaya Academy (BCA), a unique therapeutic high school that combines rehabilitative support with a stellar academic program, molding confident, capable students committed to a traditional Torah lifestyle.
The girls who come to BCA—a division of Ohr Naava Women’s Torah Center founded six years ago, in response to the pressing community need—have faced acute life challenges: dysfunctional home environments, histories of prolonged molestation, profound learning disabilities and excruciating emotional neglect. Often catapulted from neighborhood schools and rejected by their own families, they resort to promiscuity, substance abuse, and an assortment of self-destructive behaviors, certain they are not worthy of being cherished.
At BCA, however, these broken teens are embraced. And with the skilled support of a premier team of mental health professionals, they embark upon a profound journey of healing, slowly learning to love—and be loved.
“BCA cares for the most battered—but resilient—young women in our community,” says Malky Giniger, a world-renowned vocalist who will be starring in Changed. “It’s a privilege for me to donate my time and abilities to such a cause.”
Stunning in scope and professionalism, Changed will ensure that BCA can continue its essential work: offering a safe, supportive haven to girls who have nowhere to turn, and planting new beginnings to shattered lives. A transformative production that has definitively raised the bar of frum showmanship, it is the event of the year that you don’t want to miss.
