A fatal collision occurred on Route 90 near the entrance to Uga on motzei Shabbos Parshas Kedoshim. When Magen David Adom and Ichud Hatzalah EMS personnel arrived, one victim was lifeless in a vehicle. A number of others were injured as well. The vehicles were torn apart and extrication efforts took over an hour as the rescuers struggled to free the victims from the twisted metal. The vehicle and a PA (Palestinian Authority) vehicle collided head-on.

Ichud Hatzalah EMT Dvir Adani stated “When I arrived I saw an overturned vehicle with trapped people inside. One of the people in the car appeared to be dead. At least one of the others was in serious condition.

Killed in the accident was Sderot resident talmid yeshiva Elchanan Tuito z”l, a 21-year-old son of a prominent Sderot community. The Tuito family is known for its kiruv work in the community for over twenty years.

The fatal accident has reignited discussions about Watsapp lists. During the course of the night prior to the release of the niftar’s name, a number of other names were released as confirming the name of the frum victim, all incorrect. One of the names circulating on Watsapp lists was a prominent rosh yeshiva. Chareidi radio on Sunday morning discussed the harm done by these lists and irresponsible people who without true confirmation do not hesitate to pronounce people dead to the electronic subscribers.
