NJ Transit Train Stuck In Tunnel [9:48AM]

njt.jpgAuthorities are trying to remove a New Jersey Transit commuter train that became disabled just outside the Hudson River tunnel in New York City.

NJ Transit spokesman William Smith says the Northeast Corridor train was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station at 8:39 a.m. Tuesday when it broke down near 10th Avenue.

Smith does not know how many passengers are on the train or what caused the mechanical problem.

The incident is causing delays on Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, Raritan Valley. Morris & Essex and Montclair-Boonton line trains in and out of New York’s Penn Station.

Service on NJ Transit trains into and out of Penn Station are subject to up to 20 minute delays.
