VIDEO: Midwood: NYPD Looking For Suspects In Robbery On Ave M & East 18th Street


The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with the whereabouts and identity of the following individual’s wanted in connection to a robbery in the confines of the 70th Precinct. The circumstances are as follows:

On Sunday, July 27th, 2014 at approximately 9:40PM two males followed a 18 year old female into her apartment building in the vicinity of Avenue M and East 18th Street in the Midwood section of Brooklyn. The suspects then pulled the victim out of the elevator, punched and kicked her and removed her purse. They fled the location.

The suspects are described as:

1) a male black, 20 to 25 years of age, wearing a black t-shirt and multi-colored pants

2) a male black, late teens to early 20’s, approx. 240 pounds, wearing an orange t-shirt, beige shorts and a backpack

A video is attached.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.

Council Member Chaim Deutsch is offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects.

“Violent crimes such as this will not be tolerated.” said Council Member Chaim Deutsch. “I am working closely with the 70th Precinct to help bring the perpetrators to justice and I encourage people to come forward with information that can assist the NYPD in leading to an arrest.”

  1. Based on the t-shirt of one of the males it looks like those public school end of year graduating t-shirt with names of people on the back. I could be wrong, but that’s what it looks like. Maybe that can be a lead.

  2. This is the clearest crime video I’ve seen. Without a doubt the NYPD can get some clear photos from this one. Usually they’re very grainy. Hope the perps’ mothers see their boys beating this young woman.

  3. I’m glad you posted this video ywn, that woman looked really dangerous. It’s good those two fellas took action to apprehend her but I guess they were scared and ran off.
    Good news though, I do have some limited forensic abilities and from the video I was able to put some pieces together. It looked like she probably lived in that building or was visiting someone in that building. If they notify the security guard or have someone waiting there she shouldn’t be too hard to get because I think she’ll probably return there very shortly.

  4. 20-25???? They look more like 15-18. Maybe the nypd has to say 20 so they can make the video public and not have an issue with them being minors.
