British authorities say they are charging a 14-year-old boy with terrorism offenses in connection with an alleged plot to attack a war memorial ceremony in Australia.
The Crown Prosecution Service says the boy, who has not been named, allegedly incited another person to carry out an attack at a Veterans’ Day parade in Australia with the aim of killing or causing serious injury to people.
The boy is also alleged to have incited someone to carry out a beheading in Australia.
The boy was charged Thursday with two offenses of inciting terrorism overseas and is due to appear in a London court on Friday.
Five Australian teenagers were arrested on Saturday on suspicion of plotting an Islamic State group-inspired attack at an ANZAC Day ceremony in Melbourne later this month.
