Dr. Simcha Goldin on Electricity Shortage in Gaza

goldinDr. Simcha Goldin, the father of IDF Lt. Hadar Goldin HY”D who was killed in Gaza during Operation Protective Edge, responds to the cries of Gazans who claim they do not have enough electricity. The young officer’s body was taken by Hamas and while he was declared dead and a levaya was held, the family still wants his remains returned for proper kvura.

“Hamas took cynical advantage of the residents of Gaza and their condition worsens as a result. Addition electricity can be supplied to Gaza immediately following the return of the bodies of Hadar Goldin and Oren Shaul HY”D”.

Sgt. Shaul’s remains were also taken by Hamas during the same battle.

Dr. Goldin added that he knows for a fact that private businessmen have offered to double the electricity supplied to Gaza after the bodies are returned, but Hamas will not hear of it. “The blame and responsibility for each additional movement for Gaza residents sitting in the dark is exclusively Hamas’” he concluded.

It is reported that in recent days Gaza residents have been enduring a severe shortage of electricity and fuel and protests against Hamas and PA (Palestinian Authority) Chairman Abu Mazen have resulted. The protests began in Rafiach and spread to Central Gaza.
