It is well-known that among Israel�s security concerns is the growing number of daily cyberattacks from around the world. In his address to the two-day CyberTech 2016 Conference hosted in Tel Aviv this week, Minister of National Infrastructure, Energy & Water Dr. Yuval Steinitz revealed Israel�s electric grid came under attack and Israel successfully repelled the virus that was aimed at crippling the nation�s electricity system.

“Israel is currently experiencing one of the most severe cyber-attack on the Israel National Electricity Authority�, he explained, adding the attack was discovered a day earlier and as a result, �We had to paralyze many of the computers off the Israel Electric Company. We are handling the situation and I hope that soon, this very serious event will be over�.

The minister did not reveal the identity of the attackers but it is known many of Israel�s enemies including ISIS and Hizbullah are constantly working to attack Israel via its computer systems.
