Despite objections from the military prosecutor, the IDF Tel Aviv Appeals Court on Tuesday 26 Adar-II did not comply with the request to imprison the soldier pending the outcome of the legal proceedings against him. The court ruled to permit the soldier to remain in open detention in his base. He is prohibited from touching a weapon and he may not discuss the case with anyone.
The prosecutor, Colonel Sharon Zagagi-Pinchas, appealed the decision last Thursday by Judge Lt.-Col. Ronen Shor to release the soldier to open detention. Once again the court did not side with his position.
