‘Vision Zero’ Team Deployed to Notorious Brooklyn Intersection

nypdThe city is looking to crack down on dangerous driving in one part of Brooklyn today.

Police and the city Department of Transportation are sending “Vision Zero” Street teams out to the intersection of 65th Street and Bay Parkway in Bensonhurst this morning.

The teams will urge drivers to be careful on city streets, and remind them about the dangers of speeding and failing to yield to pedestrians.

The teams are usually sent to areas that have a history of car accidents and a high volume of pedestrians and drivers.

Mayor Bill de Blasio launched the “Vision Zero” program in 2014 in an effort to reduce the number of traffic-related deaths around the city.
