Counter-Attack Launched Against J-Street After The Anti-Israel Group Attempts To Silence Regavim’s Legal Advocacy Work

jstrIsraeli legal watchdog Regavim has launched a boomerang campaign to rally support for its activities, after an American anti-Israel Lobby announced a pressure campaign to silence Regavim and have their charity status revoked in America. In a counter attack, Regavim’s lawyers have begun an investigation to ascertain who is truly behind J-Street’s subversive anti-Israel position.

Last week, J Street which obsessively supported the Iran Deal, backed a UN Security Council Resolution against Israel and congratulated the UN Goldstone report which labeled IDF soldiers as war criminals decided to take aim against Regavim. Unable to beat Regavim in the court, they have decided to attack the organization in the court of public opinion, bypassing democracy, in an attempt to silence a law-abiding NGO.

Josh Hasten, international director of Regavim stated: “After successfully pushing through a perilous Iran deal, which continues to endanger Israel’s very existence; J-Street is now targeting Regavim. We are proud that this repugnant anti-Israel group is coming after Regavim because it strengthens our image as a bastion of Zionist values. As a legal watchdog focused on land ownership issues, we work according to the letter of the law to ensure that Israeli national lands are not stolen or squandered. Apparently our recent string of successes in court have upset the anti-Israel lobby so much that they want to bypass democracy and silence us.

He continued: “We call upon our supporters in Israel and around the world to show these anti-Israel bullies that Zionism is alive and well, by increasing their support for Regavim and ensuring that we continue to flourish”

Regavim is a legal advocacy organization, dedicated to ensuring responsible, legal and accountable use of Israel’s national land. By investigating claims on the ground level, Regavim protects national land interests, presenting its findings in the form of white papers and legal action, in addition to briefing the press and diplomatic corps.
