Former Likud Minister Gideon Saar Announces His Return To Politics


1Former minister Gideon Saar, who is in the top tier of the Likud party, has announced the end of his hiatus from politics, stating he plans to be a contender in the next elections. According to the nrg news site, he made his remarks during a visit to a school in Efrat.

Saar announced he is taking a break from politics about two years ago. His decision came when he was at the height of popularity in the party. At the time, he explained the birth of his son David was the reason – wishing to have more family time.

Saar has been viewed as a possible successor for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu prior to his hiatus and at present, it remains to be seen if he plans to return to his veteran party or perhaps launch his own new party.
