Secret Service Investigating Woman’s Anti-Trump Tweet

1The U.S. Secret Service is investigating a Twitter posting by a Kentucky woman who suggested someone could assassinate President Donald Trump.

The agency’s field office in Louisville has interviewed Heather Lowrey and conducted a background check.

The tweet, according to a screenshot provided to The Courier-Journal, says “If someone was cruel enough to assassinate MLK, maybe someone will be kind enough to assassinate Trump.”

Special Agent Richard Ferretti said Tuesday that once the investigation concludes, the results will be sent to the U.S. Attorney’s office, which would decide on any potential charges. Federal law prohibits threats to the president and the crime is punishable by at least one year in prison and a maximum of five years.

Ferretti suggested Internet users “think twice” before sending social media posts.

  1. The biggest flaw of “Freedom of Speech” is that it gives the impression that one has a free license to say whatever he/she wants to say. Putting aside that hate speech is illegal in America there is also a worse aspect being “disrespect to authority”. We see from Moshe Rabbeinu how to properly speak to people of authority, especially a Monarch or a powerful ruler. Whether you like it or not he is now the President of the United States! That changes his status from a CEO of a multi-billion dollar conglomerate to the most powerful ruler (of flesh and blood) in the world. That demands respect and it is our obligation to give it to him regardless, especially when/if his actions are for our benefit!

As for this lady, I don’t think she meant what she said, but I hope they throw the book at her anyways and Madonna as well! An example needs to be made from these women and made now!

Disrespect of authority should never be tolerated!

  3. To #2 leaniyus daati, I hypothesize that you and I are very different types of Jews. We are both married Shommer Shabbos/kosher, but I watch cable television, follow baseball, and use unfiltered internet. The largest difference between the two of us is that until you posted a comment, I never glanced or noticed the tiny picture of the female Twitter blogger; however you certainly did. Just an interesting observation…..

I’d venture to say that “leaniyus daati” probably lives in Israel while you clearly live in America.

Kedushas Eretz Yisrael raises Yidden to a higher level. That is why your sons change so much when they come here to learn. leaniyus daati is not ridiculous. He is just more sensitized to Kedusha and Tumah. Those that have lived here in E”Y understand what I mean.
