Monday Morning News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


IDF soldiers taking part in counter-terrorism operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron during the night arrested 15 suspects.

** A 24-year-old male fell out of second story window of Jerusalem’s Kaf HaChayim Yeshiva on Monday morning. He was transported to hospital in moderate condition.

** A 60-year-old male was attacked in his home on Ben-Tzvi Street in Ramle. He was transported to Assaf HaRofeh Hospital in serious condition. Police report the motive for the attack is unknown at this time.

** Former Israel Radio Washington correspondent and Reshet Bet radio host Yaron Dekel will begin serving as the head of Galei Tzahal (Army Radio).

** Hamas and Fatah have reached agreement by which Abu Mazen will serve as head of the interim transition government.

** Immigration officials report that 18 million travelers crossed Israel’s borders in 2011, including 9 million Israelis and 7.5 million foreigners.
