Monday Morning News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


IDF soldiers taking part in counterterrorism operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron on Sunday night arrested five suspects.

** Two Kassam rockets landed in the Western Negev during the night. There were no reports of injuries or damage.

** Employees of the Upper Nazareth Ministry of Interior office are striking over their demand for a new building. Strike officials explain that over recent years, one-third of the employees have been diagnosed with cancer, which they blame on the current structure.

** Yaakov Eilan, the Channel 10 anchorman for the past decade, has resigned from his position. He explained the relocating of the studio was the reason for his decision.

** Today marks 70 years since the killing of Lechi commander Yair Stern.
